Tanker severely damaged in fire
The "Nur Eye 1", carrying some 200 tons of marine fuel, caught fire about two nautical miles off the North port of Port Klang on Apr 28, 2014, at noon, while docking at the port. All 11 crew members on board the tanker were rescued by marine policemen and taken safely to shore. The engine room, bridge and the stern were destroyed in the fire. It took the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department four hours to bring the fire under control with the aid of fire fighting tugs.
