Woman injured by breaking boom
An NH90 helicopter medevacced a woman from the 'Nele' in the North Sea in the afternoon of Aug 28, 2021. The victim was making a trip on the ketch from Ostend, when a boom broke off and partly landed on her back. There was a strong wind when when the boom broke off and fell onto the deck. It was decided to send the NH90 helicopter from Koksijde to the site. The oepration was complicated by the strong northern wind,” it reads. The victim was hoisted aboard the helicopter with a stretcher and taken to hospital. A second person was also taken off for a check-up. There was no life-threatening danger.
