Fire in Port-La Nouvelle
On Nov 29, 2017, around 10 p.m. a fire broke out in the fish hold of the "Septimianie II" 126 gt (IMO: 9099638), in Port-La Nouvelle. The crew which had remarked the outbreak was able to limit the spreading of the fire upon the arrival of the fire brigade of Port-La Nouvelle. Polystyrene boxes were alight and caused the development of dense smoke. The firefighters used foam to gain control of the fire. The charterer of the vessel accomodated the crew in a hotel and brought in a specialized company for the cleaning and the depollutioning of the affected hold.
