Grounded ore carrier refloated
On Sep 19, 2014, at 11.30 p.m. the "Abyo Angelino" was refloated from its grounding site on the Paraná River in General Lagos by the tug "Ranquel". The ship which was loaded with 40,000 tons of iron ore bound for China had got stuck in the vicinity of Arroyo Seco at river km 393,5 while heading for the harbour for fuel supply on Sep 15 at 1.05 a.m. The grounded vessel had not obstructed the navigation channel. After the successful salvage, the ship anchored on the roads of General Lagos on Sep 20 at 00.30 a.m. for inspections.
