Salvage work not yet successful
Salvage of the "Toskjær" was continued with assistance of the fire brigade, dive Crews of Subsea North, the construction company Alf Brekken og Sønner AS and crews from Nordlaks without success. Before the Nordlaks crane barge "Asbjørn" arrived, raising work had begun. A large bulldozer prevented the boat from tipping over with a thick rope which was fastened at the mast. The Lifting bags at the hull were filled with air from a compressor. Each of these balloons had a buoyancy force of 1000 kg. Raised fishing vessel beyong repair
The "Toskjær" which had sunk in Tømmervika in a storm was raised with lifting bags on Feb 3 and was to be pulled out of the water with a crane in the small boat harbour. The wreck was estimated to be beyong repair as the starboard side of the hull had suffered extensive damage after striking against the quay. Salvage has commenced
Work to raise the sunken "Toskjær" in Stokmarknes started in the afternoon of Feb 2. Crews of the company Alf Brekken & sons in Tømmervika started to fix lifting bags at the wreck.
