Ship from Xiamen placed under quarantine

Wed Feb 26 13:11:03 CET 2020 Timsen

The 'Unicorn Bravo' was placed under quarantine as part of the precautionary measures of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). 15 Chinese and four Burmese crew members were on board the vessel which was loaded with fertilizer. IT had departed from Xiamen on Feb 20, 2020, and arrived at the Bacolod coast on Feb 24. The vessel was ordered to anchor the vessel at the sea, a kilometer away from the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) port while waiting for the quarantine officer to check the crew on Feb 27. They will follow the protocol to place these persons under monitoring for a 14-day quarantine period. It will depend on the quarantine medical officer if they will be cleared from COVID-19, considering also the economic aspect of their cargoes. The PCG was strictly monitoring and implementing all disembarkations as part of their safety measures.
