Allision in Saleef

The 'Ince Karadeniz', en route from Port Giles to Saleef with a cargo of wheat, allided with the berthed bulk carrier 'E.R. Nazire' (IMO: 9578543) while approaching berth No. 1 on Sep 2, 2022, at 12.15 p.m. UTC. The latter was discharging a cargo of sugar at berth No. 2 of the port. The 'Ince Karadeniz' was dented in the forecastle area. whiile the 'E.R. Nazire' suffered dents at the port side aft with a tear of about 40x40 centimeters size between the port side freshwater tank and the engine spare parts room. The starboard side also contacted the pier and caused damage to the fender and pier at berth No. 2, which was dented on an area of about 9x1 meters. After the discharge of cargo was completed, a permission was awaited to repair the damage of the 'E.R. Nazire'.

Oiler killed captain in dispute

The captain of the 'Ince Karadeniz' was killed by an oiler of his ship in the morning of Dec 20, 2019, while the bulk carrier was en route from Tanjung Buli via Singapore to Suez, W of Sri Lanka. The captain had reprimanded oiler earlier. He thereupon attacked him with a knife. Two other crew who tried to stop him were wounded. The man sliced the captain’s throat with a knife before he could be neutralized. The ship contacted the Sri Lankan authorities and changed course, heading for Colombo. The Turkish Consulate was also informed.
