Coastguard ship quarantined after crew member tested positive for COVID-19

After one crew member has tested positive for the coronavirus on board the "Andenes", the entire crew of 62 was be quarantined and tested. The Armed Forces did not know if the crew has been in contact with others outside the ship. The Coast Guard ship proceeded to the naval base Ramsund outside Harstad on Aug 13, 2020, where the person confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 went ashore and was placed in isolation. The rest of the crew on "Andenes" was to be tested and the vessel was quarantined.

Patrol boat suffered major damage in grounding

The "Andenes" suffered major damage below the waterline in its grounding in bad weather on a rock at Rødbergsodden in the Lenvik municipality in Troms on Dec 3. After the ship was surveyed it was found out that it suffered more damage than first thought and Norske Veritas found the ship unseaworthy. The vessel which remained in Svolvaer was to be drydocked on Dec 17 and a call for tenders sent out.

Damaged Andenes escorted to port

The "Andenes" was escorted to Tromsø by the lifeboats "Kaptein Skaugen" and "Gideon" as well as the Coast Guard vessel "Sortland". The ship safely docked on Dec 4 at 1.30 a.m. and was to be inspected at daylight. Divers were to survey the hull, and representatives of Norske Veritas were sent to the port.
