Tue Jul 19 10:29:18 CEST 2022 Timsen

The 'BAP Guise', which was participating in the biennial Pacific naval exercise in Hawaii, suffered a fire in its engine room on July 17, 2022, at around 8 a.m. HST which was extinguished by 1:40 p.m. Two personnel, in critically stable condition, were evacuated from the Combined Task Force surface vessel by a French helicopter from frigate FS 'Prairial (F731)'. They were taken to U.S. Coast Guard cutter USCGC 'Midgett (WMSL-757)' and then to the aircraft carrier USS 'Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72)' and then to shore. The two crew members had suffered burns and were being treated at a Honolulu hospital. At 1.40 p.m. the fire was extinguished by the crew with support from foreign units nearby.
