Yacht wreck salvaged after tragedy which killed four

One week after the wreck of the "Di più" in Rimini the crane ship "Amedeo“ of Ecotec removed the yacht from the breakwater where it was smashed on Apr 22, 2017. The Bavaria had suffered an engine failure on Apr 18 while approaching the port in stormy weather. The disabled boat was pushed onto the jetty by the surf, and four of the six crew members were killed. The boat was transiting from Ravenna to Trapani that day with a crew from Verona, among them five men and one woman. They got surprised by the Bora winds of more than 40 knots and tried to reach Rimini for sheltering. After the engine failed off the port, also the foresail could not be used, the yacht was capsized and thrown onto the rocks. Initially rescue forces found one body. Three more cerw members were found dead in the morning of Apr 19. Two men of 39 and 69 years were saved and treated in hospital. Possible the diesel was contaminated causing the engine failure.
