Tue Mar 13 12:26:16 CET 2018 Timsen

The "Dong Fang Glory" exploded and caught fire in Sg Belawai in the morning of March 13, 2018, critically injuring two Indonesian crew members. The vessel was anchored in the middle of the river for maintenance. There were 17 crew members and five wrokers of the Berjaya Dockyard who were there to carry out maintenance work on board. Suddenly an explosion occurred on the deck of the vessel followed by a fire. The Tanjung Manis Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 10.42 a.m. and immediately despatched a team of seven firemen from the Tanjung Manis fire station and another five from the Sungai Merah station in Sibu to the scene. However, the crew members of the vessel managed to douse the flames before the firemen arrived. The two Indonesians suffered burns on their body while the captain of the vessel sustained light injuries on his face. They have been sent to the Sibu Hospital for treatment. Tanker robbed off Indonesia

Fri Apr 03 10:57:21 CEST 2015 Timsen

Pirates attacked the "Dongfang Glory" off the coast of West Kalimantan on Apr 2, 2015, but the ship's 17 crew members were safe. The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency's (MMEA) Sarawak operations room received a confirmation of the incident from International Maritime Bureau at 8.30 p.m. The vessel was enroute to Labuan from Port Dickson. The 17 member crew were not harmed when the ship was robbed roughly 52 nautical miles north of Pulau Umi. About 25 Robbers, who were armed with pistols, had boarded the ship. They took the crew's personal items and damaged the ship's communication and navigation Equipment. A Navy ship, which was on the way to east Malaysia, responded by guiding the vessel and its crew to Kuching. The tanker was now accompanied by a Maritime ship for the rest of its journey to Labuan.
