Gisela towed to Schwabelschweiß for temporary repairs

Wed Jun 03 10:08:47 CEST 2015 Timsen

On June 2 the "Gisela" (EU-No.: 30000003) was towed to a position three kilometers downstream of the allision site in Regensburg towards Schwabelweiß where the currents are less strong so that divers may work more safely at the hull. When the leak has been patched with cement, the ship was to be towed to a repair yard. The tug was underway with a barge loaded with 200 tons gravel towards the Pfaffenstein dam. The bridge in Regensburg suffered no significant damage at the pylon which was completely sheltered by pilings.
