Medevac off Pointe de Grave

A helicopter of the Pyrenees squadron at the Cazaux Air Base 120 intervened to save a sailor who had suffered a heart attack on the "ALbator II" in night of Feb 3, 2018, at Pointe de Grave. The CROSS Etel was informed at 7.10 p.m. that the fisherman had suffered a heart attack on the trawler 100 kilometers off the tip of Grave in Gironde. The CROSS immediately requested the assistance of the Pyrenees squadron 120 Cazaux Air Base. After the High Authority for Air Defense (HADA) agreed, an EC725 Caracal helicopter from BA Cazaux took off at 8.28 p.m. The medevac took place in extremely difficult conditions: at night with waves of five to six meters height. The crew wnevertheless manage to hoist the injured and transported him to the hospital of Arcachon. Medevac off La Rochelle

On Dec 11, 2014, at 3 p.m. the CROSS Etel was alerted by the center of maritime medical consultation (MMCC) in Toulouse after a Spanish crew member of the "Albacore II", aoged 52, needed a medical evacuation. The vessel was 161km from La Rochelle. At 3.15 p.m. the CROSS Etel dispatch a Dauphin helicopter of the Navy Base in La Rochelle. The patient was hoisted at 5 p.m. and delivered at the Hospital La Rochelle at 5:38 p.m.
