Medevac off Aber Wrac'h

Mon Aug 10 18:34:21 CEST 2015 Timsen

On Aug 9, 2015 around 1 p.m. the CROSS Corsen was informed by the "Melisandre" that one crew member, aged 45, was seriously wounded at the right arm and the left hand. During a conference call with the Maritime Medical Consultation Centre (MMCC) in Toulouse and the ship, the decision was taken to evacuate the patient by helicopter and take him to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest. The Trawler was located 18 nautical miles north of Aber Wrac'h. The CROSS Corsen dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the Navy which took off at 1:47 p.m. from the naval air base Lanvéoc Poulmic. It reached the trawler 15 minutes later and hoisted the injured. At 2:35 p.m., the helicopter left the area and headed towards the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest where he was delivered to the hospital's medical staff to 2:45 p.m.
