Fishing vessel towed to Boulogne

On Nov 22 the 'Abeille Languedoc' towed the 'Loïc II' to the entrance of the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer where the tow was taken over by the fishing boat 'Corentin Lucas' around 11:10. Fishing vessel abandoned off Boulogne

On Nov 21, 2019, at 7.20 p.m. a fire broke out on board the 'Loïc II' off the coast of Boulogne. There were four sailors are on board. The CROSS Gris Nez was alerted and dispatched a Dauphin helicopter of the Navy base Le Touquet as well as the emergency tug 'Abeille Languedoc' and the SNSM boat 'President Jacques Huret'. At 7.35 p.m. the fishermen were hoisted aboard the helicopter. They had abandoned their ship and taken refuge in a life raft. They were taken to the hospital of Boulogne and taken care of by medical teams at 8:15 p.m. On Nov 22 at 1 a.m. the fishing vessel was to be towed to the quay of Europe at the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer where the firefighters of Pas-de-Calais, was ready. At 2 a.m. it turned out that the 'Loïc II' could not be taken to port, and the fire brigade was stood down. The 'Abeille Languedoc' continued its assistance to the ship off the coast of Boulogne.
