Fire on Lake Erie
The "Griffon" suffered a fire at the port side main engine No 1 exhaust insulation on the Lake Erie off Nanticoke in position 42 31.6 N, 079 55.8 W, on Feb 8, 2019, at 08.45 a.m. The ship had a crew of 39 on board. The fire was extinguished, and the vessel resumed its voyage with the starboard side engine. There was no other damage nor injuries reported.
Allision in Baie Comeau
The cargo m/v "Zelada Desgagnes" during the mooring manoeuvres at Les Mechins dry dock in Baie Comeau, allided with the docked "Griffon" in position 49 00.367 N, 066 58.621 W, on Nov 7, 2018, at 11 a.m. Minor damage was reported by the Canadian Coast Guard vessel.
