Arrest in Port Harcourt
The "Iron Trader" was arrested last week in Port Harcourt where it docked on Jan 29, 2014, by the State Security Service. The resason was that there was a container on board which was thought to be laden with weaponry bound for Uruguay. In fact it was laden with pipes and materials for the Eleme Petrol Chemical Company. The master and crew were arrested and taken to the SSS office for interrogation. The ship’s agent was arrested too. However, there were no arms in the container. The vessel was being guarded by SSS agents, soldiers and policemen.
