KALIAKRA 8222599

Thu Apr 29 12:59:55 CEST 2010 Timsen

The "Kaliakra" was suspected to have run into the Dutch f/v "Andries de Vries - UK 143", 419 gt(IMO-No.: 9021497) on Apr 29, 2010, at 5.11 a.m. 18 miles off Petten in the Northsea. The force of the impact caused a Dutch crew member to plunge into the sea, but he was soon recovered. The "Andries de Vries" suffered a large leak on starboard side. The captain of the "Kaliakra" was questioned by the Dutch Coastguard but said not to have remarked anything and continued his voyage from Dunkirk to Fredericia. The Dutch fregate "De Ruyter" was orderer to follow the ship and start an investigation also regarding green colour on the hull which could originiate from the f/v.
