Private interest in laid up ship
A private company showed interest in acquiring the "Mauritius Pride" and has already approached the Mauritius Shipping Corporation (MSC) to visit the ship. The "Mauritius Pride" ceased to sail from Maurice to Rodrigues since Jan 20, 2014, and remained docked in Port Louis. Since it is docked, the MSC had costs of about Rs 4 million for staff salaries and maintenance of the ship. This is the reason why the organization wants the government to take a decision as soon as possible on this issue.
