Woman fell over board

A person has fallen overboard the 'Nikolaos' in the Gozo Channel Ferry on Aug 12, 2021. At around 7.15 p.m., the police was informed that a woman had ended up in the sea between Malta and Gozo. She was retrieved from the water and taken back to shore by a Transport Malta boat, police told Lovin Malta. She was dropped off for medical assistance in Ċirkewwa before being taken to Mater Dei for further medical observation. It was yet unknown what led to her fall.

Leakage in steering system

The 'Nikolaos A.' suffered a leak from a pipe in the steering hydraulic system at the Port of Antirrio on July 12, 2021. The Central Port Authority of Patras detained the vessel in port until the damage to the steering hydraulic system was repaired.

Gozo Channel’s chartered NIKOLAOS to stay in Malta

The fourth vessel on Malta’s Gozo Channel ferry service, the Greek-owned NIKOLAOS, which links Malta with the island of Gozo, will stay on charter longer than her initial six months until a newbuilding replacement is built, said Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana.
