Allision with fairway buoy

On March 18, 2017, at 2.25 p.m. the "Paradizo", coming from Andernach, allided with the red fairway buoy on the Rhine at river kilometer 534 at the Clemens Ground near Assmanshausen. The ship berthed at the "Bingen Wall" because the chain of the buoy had fouled the propeller. The ship was barred from sailing until the obstruction was removed and, if necessary, further damage remedied. On March 19, divers found a section of 5 to 6 meters length jammed between propeller and propeller shaft tunnel. Between 08:00 a.m. and 09:30 a.m. the chain was cut from the propeller. Further damage was not found, and at At 10:05 a.m. the sailing ban was lifted, and the barge continued directly to Mainz-Kostheim.
