40 tons oil extracted

Thu Nov 14 10:22:09 CET 2019 Timsen

Approximately 40 tons of oil have been extracted from the 'PV Alliance' by Nov 13. The owner of the grounded vessel was working with a Singapore-based salvage company for the removal of the vessel. Port authorities require the owner to urgently remove the oil on board the vessel and to prepare in case an oil spill occurred.

Grounded ship secured ahead of approaching typhoon

Mon Nov 11 10:41:30 CET 2019 Timsen

The 'PV Alliance' was yet to be refloated. Port authorities required the owner to remove the oil on board the vessel and to prepare in case an oil spill. The vessel has about 16 tons of diesel oil and 660 tons fuel oil on board. The vessel could not yet be salvaged as of now due to an approaching typhoon. Workers were trying to secure the vessel in its current position to prevent it from being pushed by strong waves to avoid possible hull damage and oil spill.
