Tanker abandoned after explosions

On July 12, 2023, an expolsion with subsequent fire occurred on the 'Ratu Yamani'. The KRI 'Escolar-871' rescued 12 of its crew members in the Muara Barito lego area at 3.45 p.m. WITA. At around 3.47 p.m. there was a second explosion originating from the bow. At 4.13 p.m. WITA the entire crew was successfully evacuated. At 8.05 p.m. WITA, the SAR boat 'Laksmana 241' arrived at the scene. The SAR team from Basarnas Banjarmasin monitored the fire fighting efforts carried out by two tugs. After the cooling process, the SAR team from Basarnas Banjarmasin conducted a thorough inspection of the tanker to make sure there were no other victims still trapped inside.
