109 migrants rescued in two missions
The 'Salvamar Adhara' rescued 109 migrants within a few hours on April 29. In thenight the Guardia Civil noticed a cayuco 12 nautical miles from La Restinga with 69 people on board. The SAR boat escorted it to the port. Some hours later a cayuco with 40 people on board was notices three nautical miles from La Restinga and also accompanied to the port. The 'Salvamar Adhara' was mobilized to assist a canoe that was sailing 3.5 nautical miles from the coast with 80 sub-Saharan people on board, among them four women and three minors. The response was coordinated by the CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo. The boat was escorted to the port of La Restinga (El Hierro), where the migrants safely disembarked. In the night from April 17 to 18, the 'Guardamar Calíope' assisted a boat 51 nautical miels east of Arrecife. The crew rescued 56 sub-Saharan migrants. The response was coordinated by the CCS Las Palmas of Salvamento Marítimo. The 'Salvamar Adhara' assisted a boat eightn nautical miles south of La Restinga. Its crew rescued 76 sub-Saharans.
