Barge broke lose from tug
The 'Seaspan Raider', while towing the barge 'Solid 66' (5025 gt, built 2009), lost its tow in Boundary Pass, British Columbia, in position 48 43 13.5 N, 123 13 16.6 W, on March 17, 2020, at 2 p.m. The tug's crew was unsuccessful in attempts to retrieve the towing line. Subsequently, the tug came alongside the barge and transited to Constance Bank to anchor the it. On March 18 the tug arrived off Port Mellon.
Collision with log
The "Seaspan Raider" while towing an empty chip barge, came in contact with a log in the Howe Sound, Canada, in position 49 25.1N, 123 26.755W, on Oct 7, 2018, at 1010 ha.m.. Subsequently, the log jammed and disabled the port engine's propeller. The tug continued the voyage on the starboard engine's propeller.
