Fishing boat beachded with mecchanical damage
Emergency services were called out in the morning of Nov 19, 2019, after the 'Silver Stream' was beached close to Harrington Pier, near Workington after running into difficulties with its propeller. The ship had been fishing for whelks during the night. The crew of two thought there was a rope around the propeller and beached the vessel until the tide went out. Then they found it was problems with the gear box, which they have fixed. Just after 7.35 a.m. the HM Coastguard was notified. Coastguard rescue teams from Whitehaven and Maryport and the Workington RNLI lifeboat were sent to find the vessel plus any people on board. Cumbria police were also sent. When the tide lifted the vessel, it sailed back to Maryport. Report with photos: https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/18045779.fishing-boat-beached-harrington-harbour/
