Fire on ferry was accidential

The fire on the 'Superdong III' on July 30, 2019, has been declared accidental, in the findings of the local authorities in the Kien Giang Province. Inspectors had investigated the incident to determine if the fire was intentional or arson, but evidence proved that it was not. No criminal charges will be filed. The 'Superdong III' meanwhile has been fully repaired.

Ferry damaged by fire

On July 30 2019, at 8.30 p.m. the "Superdong III" caught fire at at Rach Gia port (Kien Giang). The Ministry of Public Security launched an investigation jointly with the police of the Kien province. The ferry company Superdong Speedboat Joint Stock Company has just assessed the damage and paid the insurance to customers, The ship which is unning on Rach Gia - Phu Quoc line, accommodating about 250 passengers, had stopped operating about a week ago for maintenance and repair.
