Fuel removal off Santa Luzia
On Oct 13, fuel removal of the "Terry Tres" off the island Santa Luzia, next to the beach Francisca, commenced. The ship has on board 60 tons of fuel. The operation is being performed with the aid of two deposits of about one ton each, which are put into a small vessel. The deposits are then taken to the freighter "Santo Antao", which is also off the island. The Filipino crew of the "Terry Tres" is also participating in the work. The Maritime Police is monitoring the operation abaord the "Ilhéu dos Pássaros". The container ship was carrying containers and machines for the construction work of new port on Santo Antão. Reportedly general cargo vessel Terry Tres ran aground on Oct 10 2012 in position 16 44N 024 43W, southern coast of Santa Luzia island, Capo Verde. At 17:45 UTC 11.10.12 vessel was in the same position. Vessel was en route from Lisbon, Portugal, to Porto Novo, Capo Verde. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
