Leaking hose in engine room

Fri Sep 20 12:36:32 CEST 2019 Timsen

The "Vechtborg", en route from Haraholmen, to Casablanca, suffered a leaking hose in the engine room, which needed the engine to be stopped for 30 minutes, in position 050 56 00.0 N, 001 11 00.0 E on sep 19, 2019, at 07.50 a.m. The vessel has moved to the in-shore traffic zone to complete repairs. After the damage was fixed, the ship resumed its voyage with an ETA as of Sep 24.

Vechtborg significantly damaged

Wed Nov 09 09:02:17 CET 2016 Timsen

Divers have surveyed the hull of the "Vechtborg" on Nov 8 in the port of Skagen. The investigations of the ship showed that it has taken heavy damage. The outer hull was perforated and the vessel can not proceed. On Nov 8 the "Gunnar Seidenfaden" was released from the monitoring of ship as it did not have damage to oil tanks, but serious damage to the ballast tanks. It was expected that the cargo will be loaded onto another ship and then a repair carried out. On Nov 9 the bunker tanker "Gaia Nordic" (IMO: 9614593) went alongside the ship. It left Skagen and entered basin 5 in Grenaa on Nov 11 around 5 p.m. and berthed alongside the "Vaasaborg" (IMO: 9196242). The pier in Skagen has not been damaged. The ship left the port of Grenaa after repairs on Nov 28 at 2 p.m. and headed to Gdynia as next port of call, ETA Nov 30.

Cargo ship allided with quay in Skagen

Mon Nov 07 09:52:47 CET 2016 Timsen

In the early morning of Nov 6, 2016, the "Vechtborg,", which had previously arrived at Skagen coming from Lovisa, allided with a quay at the port of Skagen. After the accident, the vessel was moored just south of the port and waiting to be inspected by divers. The unloaded ship had been docked in the port, but due to the strong wind in the area it had been decided to tow it out of the port. During the towing operation one of the ropes broke at 12.45 a.m. After the allision it was decided to tow the ship to the position south of Skagen. The environmental ship "Gunnar Thorson" has been sent to the area, but there was no spill reported.
