Bulkcarrier broke lose and allided with quay in Savona

While leaving Savona on Sep 1, 2018, the "Costa Diadema", maneuvering in the port, caused a broken mooring wire of the bulk carrier "Guerdianship" which had berthed at the Monfer Dry BulkTerminal on Aug 30, having arrived from Las Palmas. The freighter thereupon allided with the quay, causing some damages. The "Costa Diadema" continued the voyage and berthed in Marseille as scheduled on Sep 2 at 8 a.m.

Chief officer killed by snapping mooring line

On Aug 12, 2014, a crew member of the "Mystic Striker" died in an accident at the Mobil refinery dock in Beaumont. The Russian chief officer Andrey Pakholchuk, 44, was struck by a mooring line that snapped causing him to fall to the deck below at about 1:45 p.m. The victim was treated by the ExxonMobil Emergency response team and Beaumont EMS. He was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Ransom Jones who ordered an autopsy. The investigation was continuing awaiting the autopsy results.
