Fire in cargo hold
A fire broke out in cargo hold 3 of the 'Yong Shung' on Nov 14, 2019, at 7 a.m. in pos. 10 16 N 107 05 E six miles south of Vung Tau, while en route from Hong Kong to Phu My. The offshore tug 'Hai Dhong 89' (IMO: 9625188) assisted to tackle the fire in a cargo hold of the anchored vessel, which was broungt under control in the foremidday, but was not yet fully extinguished. The ship was loaded with 5.000 tons of scrap from China which may have ignited. On Nov 15 a vessel of the Vietnamese Coastguard joined the tug to support the extinguishing work.
