Ship under way to breakers in Aliaga after damage

Repairs of the damage suffered on Jan 25 could not be carried out at shipyard due to the expensive repair budget and the age of the vessel. The tug "Kurtkulagi" (MMSI: 271010441) has been appointed in order to tow the vessel from the Tuzla shipyard area to an Aliaga scrap yard. The operation has commenced in the morning of March 13 upon completion of towage approval formalities. During the Canakkale Strait passage a Coastal Safety tug will provide escort service for the vessel and strait traffic safety. The ship was moored on Aliaga anchorage in the morning of March 15.

Technical failure at Ambarli

Sun Jan 28 15:19:01 CET 2018 Timsen

The "Yuksel Imamoglu" suffered a technical failure at Ambarli on Jan 25, 2018. The tug "Yumurtalik" was appointed to tow the vessel to the Tuzla shipyard area. The towage operation commenced at 7 a.m. upon completion of approval formalities. The ship entered the Tuzla shipyard on Jan 26 at 9 a.m. Permanent repairs were due to start as regards class surveyor recommendations.
