The 'Norwegian Star' had to return to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in New York due to a power outage just a couple of hours of embarking on her current 14-night Transatlantic crossing on July 12, en route to Halifax with an ETA as of July 14.. The power has been working intermittently, and there was no air conditioning or running water onboard. The cause of the power outage was currently unknown. Tugs assisted the ship back to its berth. After troubleshooting, the ship sailed again on July 14 at 4.30 a.m. UT.

Storm forces cruise ship to depart early

Thu Oct 19 11:50:39 CEST 2023 Timsen

The storm Babet forced the 'Norwegian Star', with 2,279 passengers and 1,003 crew members on board, the final cruise ship of the year in Douglas, Isle of Man, to depart early. The vessek had arrived in Douglas Bay in the morning of Oct 19, 2023, with guests set to tour the island and its heritage sites until 7 p.m., but was forced to depart due to choppy waters, in which the tender boats were unable to operate. Cruise Isle of Man thanked the Captain and crew of the 'Norwegian Star' for sending a tender ashore to try and effect the call.
