Storm forces cruise ship to depart early
The storm Babet forced the 'Norwegian Star', with 2,279 passengers and 1,003 crew members on board, the final cruise ship of the year in Douglas, Isle of Man, to depart early. The vessek had arrived in Douglas Bay in the morning of Oct 19, 2023, with guests set to tour the island and its heritage sites until 7 p.m., but was forced to depart due to choppy waters, in which the tender boats were unable to operate. Cruise Isle of Man thanked the Captain and crew of the 'Norwegian Star' for sending a tender ashore to try and effect the call.
