TPA to Develop New Ports At Kilwa and Lindi
he Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) has issued tenders for a range of consultancy services and engineering designs, which are to underpin the development of several ports. These include a request for interest in consultancy services for feasibility studies and preliminary engineering designs for development of new ports at Kilwa, Lindi and Rushungi, plus a transhipment hub along the coast of the Indian Ocean. Another notice hopes to attract consultancy services and engineering designs for the construction of four berths at Mtwara Port. TPA has set aside funds in the fiscal year 2015/16 towards the cost of studies geared towards development of new ports. “The objective of this assignment is to undertake the study that determines economic, financial and technical viability of developing new ports at Kilwa, Lindi and Rushungi,” TPA said in one of several notices. http://www.hellenicshippingnews.com/tanzania-tpa-to-develop-new-ports-at-kilwa-lindi/
