LNG Bunkering Focus Group Gains First China Port

Wed Jul 12 11:17:51 CEST 2017 arnekiel

Ningbo-Zhousan Port, the world’s fourth largest by throughput, has been named as the first Chinese port to join the Singapore-led LNG bunkering focus group formed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Antwerp Port Authority, Port of Rotterdam and Port of Zeebrugge in 2014. The port partnership also welcomed Marseille Fos Port, France's main trade seaport, and Vancouver Port, the largest in Canada. Through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2016, the members of the focus group have committed to working together to deepen cooperation and information sharing in relation to LNG bunkering. They will also develop a network of LNG bunker-ready ports across the East and West and Trans-Pacific trade. Other partners in the focus group are the LNG-bunker ready Port of Jacksonville in the US, the Norwegian Maritime Authority, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in Japan and Ulsan Port Authority in Korea. Also in Ningbo, the MPA held the third Port Authorities’ Roundtable, where ports discussed enhancing cybersecurity responses, building sustainable ports as well as integrating port resources to better face industry challenges. https://www.porttechnology.org/news/lng_bunkering_focus_group_gains_first_china_port

Ningbo Zhoushan Port opens the 1st cross-border transport shipping route

Wed Jun 07 14:13:47 CEST 2017 arnekiel

“Shunxing 6” ship, which is a container ship for cross-border transportation of domestic trade cargoes, docked at the No 6 berth of Zhenhai Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port on May 25th. The ship was loaded with 106 containers (totally 2862 tons) of colloid corns. The cargoes were exited by a port in Huichun City of Yanbian Prefecture in Jilin Province, were delivered to Rajin Port in North Korea by land transport and then were shipped to Ningbo by maritime transport. This indicated that Ningbo Zhoushan Port has successfully opened the firstshipping route for cross-border transport of domestic trade containers.
