Ferry sidelined after breakdown

Due to a mechanical breakdown on the 'Alexandrina-Chalifoux', the crossings Tadoussac-Baie-Sainte-Catherine were served only by one single ferry since the afternoon of May 25, 2022. The Société des traversiers du Québec investigated the damage and ordered the required part which was on its way to Tadoussac. it could not yet be specified when the ferry would return, and she remained sidelined in Tadoussac as of May 27.

Propulsion trouble in Quebec

The 'Jos Deschenes', enroute from Quebec to Tadoussac without passengers, suffered problems with its propulsion in position 46 50 47.2N, 071 01 21.8W,on May 3 around 8 a.m. The vessel returned to Quebec to assess the situation. On May 4 at 4 p.m. it left the port again and finally reached Tadoussac on May 5 at 1 a.m.

Steering system failure

The 'Jos Deschenes' suffered a failure in the aft No. 2 steering system, while in Sorel-Tracy, on Dec 31, 2020, at 1.25 p.m. The ferry continued its operations with the remaining operational steering systems.
