The police found that radar and compass were not working on the ship in spite of the fact that it was just overhauled in Poland. The Egyptian crew was cared for by the sailor's mission during the unintended stay in Kiel during the christmas days. After technicians were called and repairs carried out, the vessel was allowed to proceed to Ipswich on Dec 25.
