Russian Navy ship monitored close to installations of German Armed Forces
The "Aleksandr Frolov" dropped anchor in the Kiel Bight on Aug 18, 2025. Since the area is not part of territorial waters, but merely part of the Danish Economic Zone (EEZ), it was permitted to do so. It was guarded by units of the Danish Naval Home Guard. The German "Neustadt" of the Federal Police also patrolled nearby from time to time. During the night of Aug 22, the Russian vessel left the position and moved to a position near Gedser at the entrance to Rostock. Itt anchored in pos. 54° 39' N 010° 55' E on Aug 24. The ship, equipped with numerous antennas, was positioned in such a way that it also had an eye on the installations oif the German Armed Forces along the Hohwacht and Kiel Bays.
