Injured Ukrainian stabilized

The Ukrainian crew member of the "Kapitan Kravchenko" who who fell into a cargo hold in Kristiansund on June 1 has been moved from intensive care to ward at St. Olav Hospital. Though he has serious injuries, his condition is stable. The man was transported to Trondheim by helicopter after falling from a hatch and down into the hold of the trawler.

Ukrainian sailor fell six metres deep in cargo hold

A Ukrainian crew member of the "Kapitan Kravchenko" fell six meters down into the hold of the a trawler in Kristiansund. The man was flown by helicopter to St. Olav Hospital in Trondheim. Police and EMCC were notified at 2 p.m. about the accident aboard the Russian trawler which was berthedat the Fisheries base in Kristiansund. The accident occurred during work with a 3 x 3 meter-hatch. The man stood on the tailgate and fell off when it was hoisted into place. After the rescuers got the man out of the hold on a stretcher, he was lifted onto the basket to one of the fire department ladder trucks.
