Medevac off Rawson
A 19-year-old crew member of the 'Aresit' was medevaced by the Argentine Naval Prefecture on Aug 26, 2025. The fishing vessel was sailing more than 290 kilometers off the coast of Rawson at that time. The operation, which involved a helicopter and a support plane, was carried out after a request from the captain of the "Aresit," who reported that one of his crew members was suffering from severe abdominal pain. He presented symptoms of severe epigastric pain, dizziness, and vomiting, so the Prefecture's medical team determined he required immediate hospital care. The helicopter took off with specialized personnel, and once over the vessel, a medical basket was lowered to hoist the patient. The operation was completed successfully, and the man was transferred to the Trelew airport, where an ambulance was waiting to take him to the local hospital for admission. The operation was coordinated by the Maritime Traffic Management Center. Report with photo: https://cholilaonline.ar/2025/08/prefectura-aeroevacuo-a-un-joven-tripulante-del-pesquero-aresit.html
