KRAKEN FPSO IN THE FIELD AND HOOKED UP

Mon Feb 20 20:30:03 CET 2017 arnekiel

The Kraken Floating Production Storage and Offloading (‘FPSO’) vessel arrived at the field on Monday 13 February, anticipating good weather conditions. The hook up of the Submerged Turret Production (‘STP’) buoy mooring system, to the FPSO was completed on 15th February and a full rotation test performed so that the vessel is now on station and securely moored. Commissioning work will continue on the topsides. Reconstruction of the turret area pipework and connection of the risers and umbilicals to the swivel stack is being undertaken followed by commissioning of the subsea infrastructure. Delivery of first oil in Q2 2017 is on track.

Keppel to deliver Bumi Armada’s first North Sea FPSO

Sun Aug 28 13:10:42 CEST 2016 arnekiel

Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M)'s wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard) is on track to deliver a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel to Armada Kraken Pte Ltd (Armada Kraken), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bumi Armada Berhad (Bumi Armada). The naming ceremony of the FPSO, Armada Kraken, was held at Keppel Shipyard yesterday. Armada Kraken is a harsh-environment FPSO unit that is designed for operations in the North Sea under a stringent regulatory regime. The FPSO vessel, which has a design life of 25 years without dry-docking, will be deployed to produce the heavy oil (API degree 14) found in the Kraken field in the UK sector of the North Sea. Keppel Shipyard's work scope for the Armada Kraken project includes refurbishment and life extension works, upgrading of living quarters to accommodate 90 personnel, installation of an internal turret mooring system as well as the installation and integration of topside process modules.
