Repairs of grounding damage compelted
The "BSLE Sunrise" left the port of Klaipeda, after completition of repairs of its grounding damage suffered near Valencia, on Dec 22 and headed for Antwerp as next port of call. On Dec 26 at 8.30 p.m. the ship berthed in the Churchill Dock and left the port again in the morning of Dec 30.
Vessel left Valencia three weeks after salvage
The "BSLE Sunrise" has left the port of Valencia on Nov 19, three weeks after its grounding off the port. The ship docked in Antwerp from the morning of Nov 26 until the morning of Nov 27 before proceeding further to Klaipeda where it is expected in the evening Nov 30. Also the "Celia" left the port of Valencia, it sailed in the afternoon of Nov 20, almost four weeks after having been pulled off the beach there, being bound for Ceuta where it was expected in the morning of Nov 27. To cope with the costs of the regeneration of the beach, the work on which was continuing, the owners of the "BSLE Sunrise" had to pay a bank deposit of 423,500 Euro, while those of the "Celia" paid a guarantee of 193,600 Euro to the Dirección General de Costas. Furthermore the "BSLE Sunrise" had to deposit a guarantee of 100,000 Euros to cover potential tax liabilities arising from the accident.
