Medevac off Barfleur

On Nov 15 at 10.10 a.m. the CROSS Jobourg was alerted after an 85-year-old man of German nationality aoard the 'Artania' required treatment following a fall on board. The vessel was 33 miles north-east of Barfleur. After a conference call between the CROSS, the Toulouse Medical Center and the ship, a medical evacuation was decided. The CROSS dispatched a Dragon 76 helicopter of civil security which took on board a team of maritime emergency mobile service in Le Havre which was transferred aboard the 'Artania' at 12.20 p.m. The medical team and the patient were hoisted at 2.10 p.m. aboard a Dauphin helicopter of the Navy which took over, and taken to the hospital in Le Havre where the man was taken care of at 2.30 p.m. French report with photo: https://www.premar-manche.gouv.fr/communiques-presse/evacuation-medicale-a-bord-d-un-navire-a-passagers-au-large-de-barfleur

Medevac off Pointe Saint-Mathieu

On Nov 14, 2019, at 9.30 p.m. the CROSS Corsen coordinated the medevac of a 70 year old woman from the 'Artania' which was enroute from Leixoes to Ijmiden off Pointe Saint Mathieu, Finistère. Medevac off Tarragona

A helicopter of Salvamento Marítomo medevaced a passenger in the afternoon of April 19, 2019, at 4 p.m. from the "Artania" off the coast of Tarragona. The patient was hoisted despite wind between 35 and 40 knots and taken to Reus airport, from where an ambulance transported him to a hospital center. The ship had sailed from Barcelona at 5 a.m. An hour later,a 82-year-old German citizen, suffered a heart attack. The ship was about 18 miles from the port of Tarragona. The medical services on board initially treated the victim. However, due to the seriousness of his condition, his evacuation has been requested at 5:20 p.m. The ship conitnued the voyage to Alacant.
