Last cruise in the world ended

In the foremidday of June 8 the 'Artania' finally reached Bremerhaven with 113 crew members and eight remaining passengers, the last cruise ship passengers in the world today. The ship had aborted its cruise in mid-March off Australia. The eight passengers could not return home by aircraft due to medical issues. It was planned that the cruise ship would leave Bremerhaven bound to Emden on June 11.

Non essential crew disembarked in Manila

On May 1 all 236 Filipino crew members who were not essential for the ship's operations were disembarked in Manila.In the evening the ship left the port headed to Singapore, ETA May 5, for a technical stop and supplies. Then it will continue to Bremerhaaven, ETA June 3.

Fourth person from Artania died in hospital

A fourth person from the now-departed 'Artania' has died of coronavirus in Western Australia, taking the state's toll to eight. Health Minister Roger Cook says the passenger, a man in his 70s, died in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital on April 23 after being removed from the ship last month.
