Damaged tanker still anchored off Huelva
The 'STI Pimlico', following its collision with the 'Bilbao Knutsen' while entering the port of Huelva on April 30 at 4 a.m. has departed the anchorage and was now heading to the shipyard LisNave in Setubal for repairs with an ETA as of May 5. The 'Bilbao Knutsen' remained moored off the port of Huelva in pos. 37° 5.55' N 006° 53.97' W as of May 5. The shipowners were yet to make a decision about the location of repairs and have contacted nearby shipyards regarding this matter.
Collision off Huelva
On April, 30, 2021, at 4.30 a.m. the tanker 'Sti Pimlico', while en route from Mohammedia, was in collision with the 'Bilbao Knudsen' which had just left Huelva towards the Gulf of Cadiz in the port’s anchorage area. Both ships suffered damages and dropped anchor near the collision site. The 'Sti Pimlico' was damaged at the starboard side of the forecaslte and lost her starboard anchor’ flukes and crown. The LNG tanker was dented at port side. Also deck railings were damaged. As of 1230 UTC May 1, both ships remained anchored. The LNG tanker was moored in pos. 37° 5.49' N 006° 53.76' W, the 'Sti Pimlico' in pos. 37° 4.73' N 006° 54.03' W.
