Cargo ship grounded on Don
The "Leda" ran aground on Apr 11, 2018, at 04.10 a.m. on the river Don near buoy 121 at Azov. The ship got stuck while sailing downstream with a pilot on board and a cargo of 2.436 tons of scrap metal on board, bound from Rostov for Samsun. Several attempts to refloat the "Leda" with the help of two tugs failed, now a more powerful ship was contracted by the owner which refloated the vessel on Apr 16.
