Ferry to serve Rosslare-Pembroke route
The 'Blue Star 1' will started serving the Rosslare-Pembroke route in early April, 2021. The ship will be the fastest RoRo Passenger ship operating between Britain and Ireland and will help ensure schedule integrity on the primary shipping corridor between Ireland and South Wales. As of March 29, the ship remained stationary in Piraeus.
Two passengers were positive for COVID-19
Three passengers that arrived with the 'Blue Star 1' from Patmos island at Piraeus on Aug 18, 202, at 5.30 a.m. were placed in isolation as two of them were found positive with the coronavirus. An investigation has been launched and depending on the result the necessary actions will be taken for the rest of the ferry's passengers. The prosecutor has been informed and was expecting the investigation's result to find out if the two infected were aware that they were positive or not.
Medevac in Piraeus
The Central Port Authority of Piraeus was informed by the captain of the 'Blue Star 1' in the evening of Jan 12, 2020, that a 68-year-old passenger was in need of immediate hospital care. he ´ship, which was underway to the port of Heraklion, returned to Piraeus and after the patient was dropped off and taken by ambulance to hospital, the ferry left again for its scheduled operation.
