Pirate attack in Gulf of Guinea

Wed Mar 06 12:08:54 CET 2019 Timsen

Pirates in two speedboats attacked and boarded the "Cap Theodora" while it was proceeding in the Gulf of Guinea, en route from Erha Offshore Terminal to Jose Ignacia, approximately 106 miles south of Lagos in position 004 37 50 N, 003 14 30 E, on March 3, 2019, at 12.30 am. The crew members retreated into the citadel.

Greek suezmax Cap Theodora is chased by a pirates gang. Second attack.

Tue Apr 23 06:54:50 CEST 2013 odinfm

Greek suezmax tanker Cap Theodora was attacked second time in less than a week in Gulf of Guinea, probably by the same mob. On Apr 22 13 at about 06:55 LT vessel which was under way was approached by a speed boat with some 5-6 pirates in it, in position 03 10N 007 14E. Pirates tried to board tanker, but like the first attack, failed, thwarted by water protection and maneuvering. A fishing trawler was spotted nearby, apparently a mother ship, with red hull and white superstructure. The scheme of attack and other things strongly suggest tanker was attacked by the same mob. Vessel continued voyage, no injures reported.
