Medevac off Galveston
The US Coast Guard medevaced a crew member of the "Cape Hatteras" near Galveston, Texas, in the evening of Sep 7, 2019. At 7:46 p.m., Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report that a 52-year-old crew member of the tug was exhibiting symptoms of extreme dehydration. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac. A Coast Guard Station Galveston 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew arrived on scene and transferred the crewmember to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Station Galveston. The mariner was reported to be in stable condition.
