Ferry troubled in stormy weather

Wed Nov 18 13:22:25 CET 2020 Timsen

The 'Cape Henlopen' got in trouble on Nov 16 at 7 p.m. when returning to Cape May from Lewes, Delaware. The ferry was hit by rough waters and high winds when turning into the Cape May Cana. Cross winds were pushing it towards the the jetty closest to Higbees Beach. Cape May’s Sea Tow came to assist along with another tug and were able to move the ferry safely back to port. The ferry service was cancelled for at least the first two trips on Nov 18 at 7:00 a.m. from Cape May and 8:45 a.m. from Lewes.
