Container ship returned to Suva following engine problems
After the 'Capitaine Wallis' en route from Suva to Tuvalu, suffered main engine problems, the shipping company Neptune Pacific Direct Line has announced several changes in its vessel rotations, due to the incident. The changes to vessel rotation were to move cargo to its destinations in the timeliest manner. The vessel has returned to Suva anchorage and remained anchored as of March 17, 2022, for further assessment and repair works.
Engine trouble on South Pacific
The 'Capitaine Wallis' encountered main engine problems en route from Suva to Tuvalu in the South Pacific on Dec 9, 2021. After a period of seeking to complete repairs whilst in transit it was have decided to return the vessel to Suva for further assessment and repairs. The ship was sailing at a speed of 8.6 knots with an ETA as of Dec 17.
